Every year, our company hosts a luncheon party for celebration of Chinese New Year. At the party, we have some games or activities held to introduce Chinese culture, such as five-in-a row chess, riddle guessing, dumpling warpping contest... For this year, the host of the party asked me if I have the recipe for making dough of Chinese-style figure sculpturing¡]®ºÄѤH¡^. I suggested him using fondant as a substitute, since they have the same texture and both are edible and easy to work with.

I planned to go back to Taiwan for my two-week vacation and stay with my family for the Chinese New Year as well. So, I was asked to make some "samples" for the luncheon party before I left for vacation. "Animal" is the topic of the dough sculpturing contest, thus, I made one piggy (for the year of boar), one turtle, and one pink kitten. These animals were inspired by some kind of wooden ornaments with colorful painting for celebration of festivals. Because of the time constraints, I couldn't wait until the fondant animals are totally dried to paint the flowers, so I made tiny flowers and whirls, then attached them to the animals. It looks great too, right?^^

Wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!!!^_^
